David
David (son of Jesse)
David, the youngest son of Jesse from the tribe of Judah, rose from humble beginnings as a shepherd to become the second king of Israel, succeeding Saul. He is known for his military prowess, his poetic abilities (attributed as the author of many Psalms), and his complex personal life, which included significant moral failures but also deep repentance.
